Blouse in ecru cotton voile. The back, where the yoke supports a round pleat, contrasts with the beautifully worked front: flat pleats running the full width of the blouse are held in place by four lines of tone-on-tone smocking across the chest. At the bottom, the pleats are marked but free. They structure, animate and geometrise the front of the blouse, giving it amplitude. The wide, long sleeves are fastened at the embroidered cuffs with natural mother-of-pearl buttons, as is the full-length button placket. The Claudine collar completes the look.
